Education's Future Unveiled at AzubiTalk in Hainburg: A Sneak Peek
The cities of Seligenstadt and Hainburg, along with their Economic Development Offices and other regional partners, recently organised the "AzubiTalk" event on November 7th and 8th at Kreuzburgschule Hainburg. Over 150 young people attended the event, which aimed to provide students with a comprehensive picture of the regional training landscape and to highlight the importance of skilled workers in the area.
The success of the event underscores the importance of early career orientation for young people in the region. Apprentices presented their professions and provided insights into the requirements and opportunities of their respective training paths. Students were able to ask questions about individual job profiles and establish initial contacts for possible internships or training positions.
Valuable cooperation between schools and regional partners was evident in the organization of the event. Pia Ullrich from the Agentur fΓΌr Arbeit Seligenstadt commented on the format, stating that it allows young people to shape their own professional prospects. Marie Servais, Economic Development Office of Seligenstadt, expressed satisfaction with the event's success and its value to students and companies in the region, confirming their commitment to presenting young people with career prospects early on and connecting them with companies in the region. Daniela Kschiwan, Economic Development Office of Hainburg, shared similar sentiments, praising the event's success.
The organizers are looking forward to the next steps in their efforts to connect young people with career prospects in the region. In this regard, several upcoming events have been planned. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is hosting the "Young Talents meet Start-ups" event on October 7, 2024. The Deutsches Polen Jugendwerk (DPJW) has several initiatives lined up, such as the "Austauschlabor 2025" and the TRIYOU Forum in September 2025. The youth education fair "JuBi - Die JugendBildungsmesse 2025" on September 20, 2025, in Berlin involves companies, universities, vocational schools, and counseling institutions, offering extensive opportunities for school-business-youth interaction.
While it was not mentioned if the future events will have the same format as the "AzubiTalk", the organizers are planning new events to continue fostering the exchange between schools, companies, and young people. The city and district of Offenbach has a free newsletter that provides news, but it was not mentioned if the future events will be covered in the newsletter. However, the success of the "AzubiTalk" encourages readers to subscribe to it, staying informed about the latest developments in career opportunities for young people in the region.
The high demand for the event shows the importance of such formats for successful career orientation. As the region continues to grow and evolve, these initiatives will play a crucial role in ensuring that young people have the resources and connections they need to pursue their career goals.
