In the Neryungri district of Yakutia, Russia, a criminal case has been opened for the fraudulent registration of Russian citizens. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred in the area.

According to the investigation, a 50-year-old man from Neryungri is suspected of registering 18 Russian citizens in his apartment. The man had no intention of providing housing to the registered citizens. The specific location within the Russian Federation and the current status of both the registered citizens and the man under investigation remain undisclosed.

The crime also involves the fictitious registration of foreign citizens at their place of residence in the Russian Federation. The person known for forging the registration of these individuals is not publicly identified by name.

The incident took place in the Neryungri district, and the criminal case was opened under Article 322.2 of the Russian Criminal Code. This article penalises the fictitious registration of Russian citizens with imprisonment of up to three years.
