Eintracht Frankfurt set to award Dina Ebimbe and Nkounkou
Eintracht Frankfurt, a Bundesliga football club, has seen two of its players, Niels Nkounkou and Junior Dina Ebimbe, depart on loan for the remainder of the season.
Nkounkou, a 24-year-old left-back who has played 62 games for the Hessians, has moved to FC Turin in Italy's Serie A. Meanwhile, Ebimbe, who has scored 15 goals in a total of 85 games for Eintracht Frankfurt, has joined Stade Brest in the French Ligue 1.
Both clubs have an option to buy the players at the end of their respective loan periods. This move comes as both players found themselves out of favour at Frankfurt.
Nkounkou, who joined Eintracht Frankfurt from AS Saint-Étienne two years ago, hopes for a fresh start in Serie A. His contract with Frankfurt expires in the summer of 2028. Ebimbe, on the other hand, struggled to secure a regular starting spot last season and a proposed winter transfer to AS Monaco fell through due to failing a medical. He joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 2022 and was later permanently signed by the club. His contract with Frankfurt runs until the summer of 2027.
Junior Ebimbe is currently on loan to Stade Brest until the end of the season, with Brest holding a purchase option for the player. This marks a return to France for Ebimbe, who began his career at AS Saint-Étienne before moving to Paris Saint-Germain.
Nkounkou's goal-scoring record with Eintracht Frankfurt is not provided. However, he has proven to be a reliable defender during his time with the club.
As Eintracht Frankfurt continues its journey in the Bundesliga, it will be interesting to see how the departures of Nkounkou and Ebimbe affect the team's performance. Both players will be looking to make a strong impact at their new clubs and potentially secure a permanent move at the end of the season.
