Elderly Gentlemen's Culture Event: Speed Dating for Ages 60 and Above
The senior office in Bergisch Gladbach is organizing two special events for individuals over 60, titled "Speed Dating 60+", as part of the cultural weeks for seniors. These events, held in cooperation with the PRO Treff community center in Bensberg and the DRK Refrather Treff, aim to bring together like-minded individuals with the motto "Age doesn't protect against love, but love protects against aging".
The first speed dating event will take place on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the PRO Treff community center, Schloßstraße 84, Bensberg. The second event will occur on Wednesday, September 10th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the DRK Refrather Treff, Steinbrecher Weg 2, Refrath. Each event offers participants the opportunity to have seven conversations with new people, with each conversation lasting eight minutes.
The demand for these events is huge, and while spots for women are already fully booked, some spots for men are still available. Those who are interested in participating can register during the ongoing registration phase, which has been running for over two weeks. For doubts, questions, or to register, individuals can contact Kerstin Klann at 02202 - 141546 or [email protected].
In addition to the events in Bergisch Gladbach, the city of Friedrichshafen, which will be hosting the events in September, will also host two "Speed Dating 60+" events during the cultural senior weeks. These events will take place on a Bodensee catamaran with two separate crossings for different age groups. The exact dates are September 12 with the second crossing starting at 8:30 PM for ages 40 to 56. The meeting point is the Friedrichshafen Katamaran dock at 8 PM.
The department for aging encourages men to participate in these events and is inviting them to join in the spirit of making new connections. The course of the speed dating events is simple: participants have eight minutes to get to know each other before moving on. If participants are interested in each other, they can note this anonymously on a card. Only if both conversation partners agree will their data be passed on afterwards.
At the end of the event, the department for aging will evaluate who wants to get to know each other better. The city of Bergisch Gladbach's department for aging has been renamed as the senior office. For more information about these exciting events, please contact Kerstin Klann.
