Bairish Language Angels' Communication Revealed - "Elderly Individual Prevents Scam in Bavaria"
In the quiet town of Bruckberg, Landkreis Landshut, an 84-year-old man found himself at the centre of an unusual event last Tuesday. The senior citizen received an unexpected call, not from a friend or family member, but from a suspected telephone scammer.
The scammer, who identified himself as an "angel" speaking High German, attempted to weave a web of deceit. However, his lack of dialect gave him away, leading to the failure of the scam. The senior, feeling something amiss, promptly reported the incident to the authorities.
The police in Lower Bavaria are currently investigating the incident. The perpetrator, a 48-year-old Polish man residing in Poland, was arrested along with another accomplice on August 14, 2025. The arrest came after a 65-year-old woman from Wallkofen recognized the scam and helped the police during a staged handover. Both suspects were charged with organized fraud and taken into custody by the Regensburg court.
This incident serves as a reminder for everyone, especially the elderly, to be vigilant against such fraudulent activities. If you find yourself in a similar situation, it is always best to report it to the authorities.
The police encourage the public to stay informed and to never divulge personal information over the phone unless they are certain of the caller's identity. By working together, we can help keep our communities safe.
