Elderly Male Sustains Severe Injuries Following Attack by Three Adolescents in Beja
In an unexpected and troubling event, a 65-year-old man was seriously injured in an attack by three teenagers aged between 16 and 18 in Beja's Parque da Cidade on Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 23:00.
The victim was transported to Beja Hospital after the attack, and later transferred to a Lisbon hospital for further tests due to the severity of his facial injuries. The motives for the attack remain unknown.
Upon receiving the alert at 23:10, five firefighters from Beja and PSP operatives were mobilized to the scene. The attackers were detained by the PSP shortly after the incident, but the perpetrators involved have not yet been identified. All suspects remain free pending the outcome of the investigation.
Two vehicles were used to support the response to the incident. Despite the swift response, the motives for the attack remain unclear. The suspects were charged and appeared in court for their first judicial interrogation.
As the investigation continues, the community is left in shock, hoping for clarity and justice in this unfortunate incident. The authorities assure the public that they are doing everything in their power to identify the perpetrators and understand the motives behind this attack.
