Electric Mahindra BE 6 adaptation themed after Batman unveiled
The Indian automaker Mahindra has unveiled a limited-edition electric SUV, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition. This unique vehicle, developed in collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery, is a testament to the enduring popularity of the Dark Knight.
Priced only a bit more than the standard BE 6, the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition starts at ₹27.79 lakh (approximately $54,300). Based on the range-topping BE 6 variant, this SUV boasts a battery capacity of 79kWh, offering a WLTP range of 550km.
The Batman Edition is designed to wear its fandom on its sleeve, or in this case, its cape. Golden bat emblems adorn the fenders, brake calipers, springs, and 20-inch wheels. The SUV's exterior features satin black paint with gloss highlights, and puddle lamps project the bat emblem onto the ground.
Each of the 300 units produced will feature a numbered "Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition" plaque. The panoramic Infinity Roof carries an illuminated Dark Knight Trilogy insignia. To complete the Batman experience, Mahindra programmed a "Batman-inspired" exterior sound profile.
Pratap Bose, Mahindra's Chief Design and Creative Officer, described the project as creating something that feels like owning a piece of cinematic history. The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is aimed at the most devoted Gotham faithful, and deliveries for the limited-edition SUV begin on September 20, coinciding with International Batman Day.
The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is marketed as the world's first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV. With its unique design and Batman-themed features, this electric vehicle is sure to be a hit among fans of the iconic superhero.
