Meanwhile, in the world of construction, Komatsu has made a significant stride with the introduction of the PC20E-6 electric mini excavator. This new addition to Komatsu's lineup of battery-powered equipment promises a full day of work from a single charge. The PC20E-6, with an operating weight of 2,190 kg, can operate for up to 4 hours continuously.

The PC20E-6 is equipped with a 23.2 kWh battery pack and 11 kW electric motors. It offers an on-board charging option for 230V and 3kW charging power, with an optional external DC quick charger for 400V and 12 kW charging.

Emanuele Viel, Group Manager Utility at Komatsu Europe, stated that the risk for the end customer is significantly reduced with the new electric mini excavator. The Komatsu P20E-6 will begin series production this October, but the pricing has not been officially released yet.

In addition to the PC20E-6, Komatsu has introduced the Komatsu E-Support customer program. This program, included free of charge with every market-ready electric mini excavator, offers exclusive machine support. The PC20E-6 also comes with Komatsu's E-Support maintenance program, including free scheduled maintenance, a 3-year/2,000-hour warranty on the machine, a 5-year/10,000-hour warranty on the electric driveline, and a promise that the battery should last 10 years.
