Electric Vehicle Charging Stations En Route to Himachal Pradesh, India (53 in Total)
The Himachal Pradesh government has announced a significant initiative to promote eco-friendly transportation. The project, which includes the operation of 237 electric buses and the installation of charging stations across the state, has received a budget of 20 million RS from the Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.
The State Government has sanctioned the project, and financial assistance of 110.95 million RS will be received from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The project will be executed across two phases.
The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has had a proposal approved for the development of e-charging stations at 53 locations across Himachal Pradesh. The HRTC will undertake the development of these stations, while the civil works will be handled by the Himachal Pradesh Bus Stands Management & Development Authority (HP BSM&DA).
The installation of the electrical transformers necessary for the charging stations will be handled by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited. This installation is typically the responsibility of a certified electrical specialist organization or licensed electrical company qualified for such installations, often involving an officially designated electrical expert ("Elektrofachkraft") to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Initially, charging stations will be set up at 34 locations including Shimla Local, Theog Bus Stand, Nurpur, Fatehpur, Dharamshala, Palampur, Baijnath, Hamirpur, Hamirpur Bus Stand, Nadaun Bus Stand, new Electric Depot Nadaun, Una, Bangana, Amb, Bilaspur, Ghumarwin, Sundernagar, Jogindernagar, Mandi, Arki, Parwanoo, Nalagarh, Nahan, Paonta Sahib, Shree Renukaji, Kullu, Manali, Chamba, Bharmour, Dalhousie, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Reckong Peo and Keylong.
The two-phase execution strategy is aimed at ensuring the readiness of the charging stations before the arrival of the e-buses. The first fleet of e-buses is expected to arrive after the completion of all necessary work for the project.
The Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has pledged a budget of 20 million RS for the project, demonstrating the government's commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. The project, once completed, is expected to significantly reduce carbon emissions and contribute to a greener Himachal Pradesh.
