The electric vehicle market is rapidly evolving, leading to a transition towards advanced electrification solutions. One such solution is BorgWarner's eXD technology, which is now being expanded for application in electric vehicles to elevate the driving experience for electric vehicle users.

In slippery conditions such as ice, snow, or mud, the eXD technology rapidly identifies reduced friction and limits power transfer to slipping wheels. This feature improves handling and traction capabilities in vehicles, ensuring stability and control in challenging driving conditions. On dry roads, eXD technology allows for improved grip, enabling more power to be transferred to the outer wheels for enhanced cornering performance.

BorgWarner's eXD technology dynamically controls power distribution between the wheels and dynamically adjusts slip control based on real-time driving conditions and vehicle status. This adaptability to real-time conditions is a key feature of the eXD technology, making it highly effective in various driving scenarios.

The eXD technology showcases superior handling performance across varying friction conditions. It has proven effective in high-performance combustion vehicles and will now be applied in electric vehicles in China, thanks to a new program secured by BorgWarner with a leading Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Isabelle McKenzie, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc., stated that eXD technology improves vehicle stability in various driving conditions. The technology's ability to identify and respond to changing friction conditions is a significant advantage, enhancing vehicle stability during high-speed driving, rapid acceleration, and sharp turns.

The application of eXD technology in electric vehicles will undoubtedly contribute to the improved driving experience for electric vehicle users in China. As traditional powertrain technologies transition towards advanced electrification solutions to meet increasing performance and safety demands, BorgWarner's eXD technology is set to play a crucial role in this transition.
