In the upcoming series of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson and James May are putting electric cars to the test. The duo is currently filming in the beautiful City of Lucca, Tuscany, with the Citroen DS3 Racing, Fiat 500C Abarth, and Renault Clio RS.

However, the electric cars they are testing, the Nissan LEAF and Peugeot iOn, seem to be causing some issues. It is unclear what exactly happened in Lincoln, but it appears that they ran out of power. The exact circumstances are yet to be disclosed.

A witness recorded a video of a tow truck arriving two hours before Clarkson and May arrived in their electric cars, suggesting pre-planning. This has fuelled speculation about the test's authenticity.

Top Gear's response to the critics of the electric car test has been addressed by Andy Wilman, known as 'Mr Top Gear'. The details of this response are not yet known.

In a separate incident, a 10-minute spoof of Top Gear's May and Clarkson testing the Nissan LEAF and Peugeot iOn has been created by two English guys. The link to the video can be found here.

Despite the praise for the performance of a £100k Tesla, Top Gear implied that there were more issues than actually occurred. The show has had a history of not getting along with electric cars, as shown in the latest test.

It is unknown if Richard Hammond is present in another electric car for this test. Top Gear and Tesla had a less than successful story in the past.

The new series of Top Gear is set to air this month. We will find out more when Top Gear returns. Lucca, with its 16th-century walls, delightful piazzas, and other attractions, serves as a picturesque backdrop for the filming.

Despite the challenges faced with the electric cars, the show continues to push boundaries and provide entertaining content for its audience.
