Electric vehicles manufacturer VinFast shares plans for introducing electric buses in Europe

VinFast, a Vietnamese automobile manufacturer, is set to make its mark on the European market with the introduction of its electric buses, the EB 8 and EB 12 models, in October. This move aligns with the company's mission to make electric mobility accessible to all in Europe and contributes to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the EU's ecological transition goals.

For four years, VinFast's electric buses have been operational in Vietnam, with an annual production capacity of 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles. The company's expansion in Europe is a significant step towards creating "smart, green, and sustainable cities."

The buses are powered by Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, supplied by reliable global leading providers like CATL and Gotion. With a capacity of up to 422 kWh, these batteries offer a real range of up to 400 kilometers. The buses can charge at a rate of up to 140 kW, enabling a full charge in two to three hours.

To ensure compliance with European regulations, the buses are compliant with UNECE and CE regulations. BYD provides the Lithium-Eisenphosphat-Batterien for the electric bus models.

VinFast also plans to collaborate with European partners in the transport and infrastructure sectors. Further technical details such as dimensions or passenger capacity will be revealed at the Busworld fair, where VinFast will outline its strategy for entering the European public transportation market.

By meeting the EU's stringent emissions requirements, VinFast aims to help create an emission-free transportation system and a cleaner, greener life for Europeans. The EU requires new city buses to reduce emissions by 90% by 2030 (compared to 2019 levels), and new vehicles must be emissions-free by 2035.

In summary, VinFast's debut of the EB 8 and EB 12 models in Europe marks a significant step towards creating sustainable cities. The company's commitment to electric mobility and collaboration with European partners promises a greener future for Europe's transportation system.
