New Volkswagen T-Roc Unveiled in Leaked Images Ahead of August 27 Reveal

Leaked images of the new Volkswagen T-Roc have surfaced online, giving us a sneak peek at the upcoming small SUV ahead of its official reveal on August 27.

The new T-Roc sports a sporty-looking front end with an aggressive grille setup and LED headlights connected by an LED strip light. The exterior design also features a more swoopy, almost coupe-like rear end, setting it apart from the outgoing model. The tailgate design resembles the current Tiguan, as well as the electric ID.4 and ID.5.

Inside, the new T-Roc boasts a free-standing digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen multimedia display. The interior also features a physical steering wheel with buttons, rather than touch-sensitive units. The gear selector has been moved behind the steering wheel, allowing for the center console storage to be maximized.

No details have been released about the powertrain line-up for the new T-Roc, but leaked images suggest it may have a mild-hybrid set-up, as indicated by the 'eTSI' badge on the rear. Current Volkswagen vehicles based on the MQB Evo platform offer 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre mild-hybrid engine configurations, which may be options for the new-generation T-Roc.

Expected engine configurations for the new T-Roc include a 110kW 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder and a 150kW tune of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid version is likely for the new T-Roc, as well as a high-performance R version in due course.

The leak of images of the new T-Roc follows earlier leaked imagery of the T-Roc's exterior design. There is no more word on whether the T-Roc will receive a Toyota-style hybrid powertrain option at launch, as previously suggested.

The new T-Roc shares a family resemblance with the new Tiguan, which launched in new, third-generation guise earlier this year in New Zealand. The new T-Roc R version will officially be presented on August 27, 2025, but the search results do not specify a particular person attending the presentation or officially unveiling it; only the date and event of the new T-Roc premiere are mentioned.

Images of the new T-Roc's exterior and interior design were shared on Spanish forum website Cochespias. The full reveal of the new T-Roc is scheduled for August 27, or new information may leak online before then. Stay tuned for more updates on the new Volkswagen T-Roc.
