Encourage Enhancement of Vaccination Rates

In a bid to efficiently utilise leftover COVID-19 vaccine doses, the Rhein-Kreis Neuss has partnered with Cologne-based startup LIT labs to implement the "Impfbrücke" initiative. This innovative tool automatically allocates leftover vaccine doses to willing recipients, streamlining the process and saving manual effort.

The "Impfbrücke" works by the Impfzentrum initiating a call, selecting the group, the vaccine, and the time slot for vaccination. Once the call is made, the system automatically selects the mobile numbers of willing recipients and notifies them via SMS about the opportunity to receive a spontaneous vaccination.

If there are remaining doses for a given time slot, three people receive a notification. The first to respond with "Yes" receives a confirmation with a unique vaccination ID. If no one responds within 30 minutes, three new mobile numbers are contacted - until all vaccine doses are allocated.

The company behind the "Impfbrücke" application is Circle Unlimited. The Rhein-Kreis Neuss learned about the initiative from the Impfzentrum Duisburg, where it had a successful test phase.

Subscribing to the newsletter is easy. Users can do so through a provided link or form. The "Impfbrücke" application imports the list of willing recipients from the respective prioritised group.
