Encourages Digital Transformation in the National Business Sector

The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg has launched a new funding call for regional Digital Hubs. This initiative, part of the "Wirtschaft digital BW" initiative, aims to connect regional users and providers of digital solutions across sectors.

Eleven regional Digital Hubs will be funded in total, with one in each of the eleven regional innovation systems. These Digital Hubs serve as information and experimentation spaces, making digital technologies tangible for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The goal of these Digital Hubs is to connect the existing strengths of Baden-Württemberg's SMEs with new digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence and the metaverse. They bring together regional users and providers of digital solutions, contributing to the implementation of concrete digitization projects.

Institutions eligible to apply for funding by October 24, 2025, 12:00 noon, include SMEs and other regional stakeholders who can act as local contact points supporting digitalization in the economy. Both existing regional Digital Hubs and institutions wishing to set up a new Digital Hub are encouraged to apply.

The funding call is open for projects with a duration of two years, with the projects scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2026. The maximum funding amount per regional Digital Hub is 500,000 euros. A total of 5.3 million euros is available for the third funding round of regional Digital Hubs, from 2018 to 2028.

The regional Digital Hubs also aim to be more present in rural areas with their offers, through temporary "pop-up formats". Project outlines must be submitted by October 24, 2025, at 12:00 noon. The full funding call and application documents are available for download online.
