Energy-focused construction planned for residential neighborhood
The city of Bayreuth has initiated a plan for the redevelopment of the Lower Herzoghöhe residential quarter, with the focus on the area between RankestraĂe, FröbelstraĂe, ScheffelstraĂe, and Dr.-WĂŒrzburger-StraĂe.
The city council set the plan in motion at the end of July, and the draft building plan is now available for public viewing until September 8th, on the city's homepage.
During the display period, appointments are required for a personal discussion of the planning. These appointments can be scheduled by calling 0921 25-1660. The public plan display is located on the 9th floor of the New City Hall.
The redevelopment aims for high building density and sustainable energy development. Existing buildings in the residential quarter will be demolished and replaced with energy-independent "sun houses".
The documents for the redevelopment can also be viewed at the city planning department in the New City Hall, Luitpoldplatz 13, 9th floor, during general business hours. Employees of the city planning department are available for information Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12 pm, and in the afternoon if necessary.
Questions about the planning can be asked by phone or email during the display period. The Bayreuth Housing Cooperative (GBW) currently owns most of the Lower Herzoghöhe residential quarter.
The redeveloped residential areas will be secured by planning, allowing for a higher degree of building use. A four-story construction with point houses is planned for most of the building sites in the redeveloped quarter.
The primary goal of the redevelopment is sustainable energy development. Residents are encouraged to make statements during the publication period, which can be submitted electronically, but other means are available if necessary.
The redevelopment plan also emphasises the importance of public engagement. The opportunity to discuss the planning is available during the display period. A prior appointment is requested for a personal inspection and discussion of the planning in the public plan display.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Lower Herzoghöhe residential quarter redevelopment. For further information, please contact the city planning department.
