Enforced closure of Peace Road in Hürth-Gleuel area

In the town of Hürth, there is an ongoing repair operation on the hot water supply system, with the responsible parties yet to be explicitly named. Local companies like BRÖTJE and TGA Jansen GmbH & Co. KG, known for their services in heating and hot water system maintenance, could potentially be involved in the repairs.

To accommodate these repairs, a section of the intersection at Friedenstraße/Bachemer Straße will be closed from 07.03.2025 to approximately 21.03.2025. This closure will not affect pedestrian or cyclist traffic, but vehicles will be rerouted during this period.

For buses traveling towards Eifelstraße, the reroute includes Barbarastraße, Bergmannstraße, Ernst-Reuter-Straße, and Aldenrater Straße. Buses traveling towards Hürth-Mitte ZOB will be rerouted to include Aldenrater Straße, Ernst-Reuter-Straße, Bergmannstraße, Schnellermaarstraße, and Barbarastraße. An alternative stop will be set up on Ernst-Reuter-Straße at house number 55.

Unfortunately, several stops will not be served during the closure period, including "Jacob-Eßer-Platz", "Bachemer Straße", "Florianstraße", "Elbingstraße", "Erlenweg", and "Sebastianusstraße". However, the regular stops of lines 717 and 968, "Auf dem Kramberg" and "Aldenrater Straße", can still be used for boarding and alighting.

Affected households will be informed about the closure and changes in bus service via flyers. It's important to note that no new construction sites or related information were mentioned in the current update.

The closure and rerouting are due to urgent repairs needed for the district heating supply, which has suffered corrosion damage. The district authorities are working diligently to ensure the repairs are completed as quickly and safely as possible. Residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to check the latest updates for any further changes.
