England Set to Face Serbia and Andorra in World Cup Qualifiers

England's football team is gearing up for two crucial matches in their quest to book a spot at the 2026 World Cup. This weekend, the Three Lions will take on Andorra at Villa Park, a stadium with a rich history of hosting England fixtures.

Villa Park has been the venue for several notable England matches, including the first-ever meeting with Scotland in 1899, the first-ever meeting with Spain in 2001, and the first-ever meeting with Portugal in 2002. This will be the first time an England fixture has been played at Villa Park in over 20 years.

However, the team will be without John Stones, who has returned to Manchester City due to a muscle issue and will not play against Andorra or Serbia.

The game against Andorra will mark potential debuts for Djed Spence and Elliot Anderson. The squad currently boasts 21 players, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who has returned to the England squad for the first time in six years.

England is currently leading their World Cup qualifying group and won the first-ever meeting with Serbia at Euro 2024, with Jude Bellingham scoring the only goal. The meeting between England and Serbia will be only the second time they have met in a competitive fixture.

The next encounter, against Serbia, will take place at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade on Tuesday. This game will be shown live on ITV1 and is expected to be a tough test for England, with Serbia proving to be the tougher side in their qualifying quest for the 2026 World Cup.

After these two matches, England's next fixture is against AFC Bournemouth on September 21, 2025, at 15:00 in the Premier League. Let's hope for another successful outing for the Three Lions!
