Enhanced Involvement of Young People

In the vibrant city of Landshut, young people now have a dedicated point of contact in their community. Eike Brenner, the new additional youth worker, has joined the Municipal Youth Work team and is ready to support and guide young people alongside his colleague Sabrina Kasper.

With a focus on youth participation and policy, Brenner is the full-time contact person for co-determination, aiming to involve young people in local political decisions. His motto, "Shape your city," encapsulates this commitment to empowering the city's youth.

Brenner's journey in Landshut began in April, and he has already made significant strides in increasing youth participation. One of his key initiatives was the kick-off event for the planned Youth Council, held in cooperation with the City Youth Ring. This event provided a platform for young people to discuss the design of the Youth Council and exchange ideas with the pedagogical team.

On-site meetings have been a key part of Brenner's approach. He has already held meetings at the street basketball court in the Wolfgangsiedlung, and other areas of youth participation, in collaboration with various administrative departments, are on the horizon. Young people can actively contribute their ideas in the planning process for the redesign of street basketball courts and other youth spaces in the city.

Brenner brings extensive experience in youth welfare and participation to his role. Having worked in the district of Dingolfing-Landau for the past six years, he has supported three communities. This wealth of experience will undoubtedly prove invaluable as he continues to shape the future of youth work in Landshut.
