Enhanced Railway Connections Established between Berlin, Leipzig, and Poland
The Eisenbahn Verkehrs Nachrichten (EVN) has announced an increase in direct connections and the introduction of new night trains between Germany and Poland, starting from December 14.
In response to the significantly increased demand for travel between the two countries, Deutsche Bahn and PKP Intercity will offer additional train trips. The number of direct connections will increase from 11 to 17 in the future.
Among the new connections are a night train between Berlin and Przemysl on the Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as a night train between Berlin and Chelm via Lodz and Warsaw. There will also be an additional daily connection between Warsaw and Berlin.
For those travelling between Leipzig, Breslau, and Krakow, a new connection with two trains per day in each direction will be established. In total, seven train pairs will run every two hours on these routes.
The new train services will provide more frequent connections between Germany and Poland, offering night train options, although specific details about the frequency of the new night trains were not provided. PKP Intercity, a subsidiary of the Polish State Railways, is involved in the new train services.
The new connections will not only provide more travel options between Germany and Poland but also offer direct connections to Ukraine, with a second border city (Chelm) being connected directly to Ukraine via these new night trains.
These developments are expected to make travel between Germany and Poland more convenient and accessible, catering to the growing demand for travel between the two countries. More information about the specific details of the new night trains, such as ticket prices and exact departure and arrival times, is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
