Enhanced Security Measures at Bremen Central Station: Federal Police broaden restrictions on hazardous items, including firearms, replicas, stun guns, and all types of knives

The Federal Police Directorate Hannover has announced an extension of a ban on carrying dangerous tools, firearms, and similar items at Bremen Central Station. The decision comes in response to an increase in bodily injury offenses using weapons and dangerous tools at the station.

Andreas Meier, Deputy President (Ständiger Vertreter des Präsidenten) of the Federal Police Directorate Hannover, believes that the extension will effectively enhance the safety of all travelers. The ban will be in effect from Monday, September 1, 2025, 00:00 to Tuesday, September 30, 2025, 24:00.

The validity area of the general decree covers the entire building part of Bremen Central Station, including the platforms, excluding the Bürgerweide passage. Violations of the ban can result in a ban from the premises, a house ban, denial of transport, or a penalty fine. Exceptions to the ban are outlined in section 3.2 of the general decree.

The Federal Police deployment forces will continue to monitor compliance with the ordinance, with the Federal Police Directorate Hannover deploying temporary focus teams to ensure the safety of all travelers. The extension of the ban is valid until September 30, 2025.
