Enhancing the Tidiness of Detmold

The city of Detmold has taken a step towards promoting a cleaner and more considerate environment by installing new dog waste disposal signs in various public areas. These signs, designed by cartoonist André Sedlaczek, aim to draw attention to the sensitive issue of dog waste disposal and foster a more considerate coexistence among citizens.

The first signs have been hung in the Friedrichstal park area and can also be seen in the city center. More locations in particularly affected areas, neighborhood parks, and green connections near playgrounds will receive the new signs in the coming days.

The signs are not prohibition or command signs, but rather friendly reminders for better coexistence among citizens in the city. They are placed in parks, squares, paths, and children's playgrounds due to the prevalence of dog feces in these areas.

Despite the widespread "bag culture," some dog owners still leave their pets' waste behind instead of disposing of it properly. This behavior results in others often stepping in the waste, which many people find unpleasant.

The new signs are intended to help reduce or solve this problem. They are part of a collaborative effort between the city of Detmold and cartoonist André Sedlaczek, who developed the display boards that awkwardly address the problem of dog waste disposal in public green spaces.

The new signs in Detmold aim to promote a cleaner and more considerate city. By reminding dog owners to dispose of their pets' waste properly, the city hopes to create a more pleasant environment for all its citizens and visitors.
