Erdogan asserts that war and terror magnates will not attain their objectives within the region.
In a recent speech in Malatya, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed his government's commitment to the "terror-free Türkiye" initiative, a focus for the Turkish government aimed at eradicating terrorism within the country.
Erdogan alleged that those who thrive on blood, conflict, and instability have stepped up their campaigns recently. He accused these groups of supporting the Zionists' ambitions in the region and warned against falling into the trap set by opponents.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the United States, and the European Union, announced a ceasefire following a call from its jailed leader, Abdullah Öcalan. Under the "terror-free Türkiye" project, the PKK later declared its decision to disband and disarm. Ankara also considers the YPG, which it regards as PKK's Syrian offshoot, as part of the disarmament decision.
Erdogan expressed confidence that they are well-prepared for any dark scenario and predicted a strengthening of brotherhood, increased affection, and cemented solidarity for Türkiye. He also expressed a desire for a Türkiye where mothers no longer experience the pain of losing their children due to conflict.
However, Erdogan claimed opponents have mobilized all tools at their disposal, including lies, provocation, slander, and disinformation. He cited false reports aimed at alarming the relatives of fallen soldiers and misleading claims about the closure of village administrations in the east.
Erdogan pledged that his government will not allow warlords or terror groups to succeed in their aims. He emphasized that the "terror-free Türkiye" initiative will not be compromised by ambitions, miscalculations, or imperialist games.
As they approach their goal, the intensity of attacks has reportedly increased. Erdogan anticipates new opportunities opening for Türkiye and the region. He expressed determination to continue the struggle against terrorism for the sake of children's lives.
The main opponents agitating against President Erdoğan's "terror-free Türkiye" initiative are primarily Kurdish militant groups, especially the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), as well as some opposing political factions and international entities that criticize Turkey's policies in the region. Erdogan accused these opponents of spreading disinformation to undermine the "terror-free Türkiye" process.
Despite the challenges, Erdogan expressed optimism for the future, believing that the "terror-free Türkiye" initiative will bring about a more peaceful and prosperous nation.
