Errant Officer SuCCumbing to Avarice, Unlawfully Swindles Motorist

In a concerning incident on August 30, an unknown individual is suspected of impersonating a police officer near Bedburg on BAB 61. The Rhein-Erft-Kreis police are investigating the matter and are accepting tips.

According to the police, the suspect stopped a driver around 12:30 PM on BAB 61 towards Venlo. The suspect directed the victims off the motorway at the Bedburg exit and stopped them in the area of Erkelenzer Straße.

The suspect, who was wearing a blue uniform, a black holster with a weapon, and had a beard, checked the driver and grabbed the victim's wallet when the victim reached for their ID. The victim, a 40-year-old individual, was traveling with two witnesses, a 32-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman.

After the robbery, the suspect drove off in a black VW Passat. The incident was documented by alerted police officers, and the criminal investigation into the impersonation case continues.
