EU-POL: Alcohol-related road collision resulting in damage
On Friday evening, February 14th, a traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred in Euskirchen, Germany, along the Erftstraße at approximately 20:50.
The accident investigation is being conducted by the Circles Police Department Euskirchen. According to preliminary findings, the 45-year-old driver of a car from Borgmannstraße lost control during a left turn onto the Erftstraße, likely due to inappropriate speed.
The driver, a resident of Euskirchen, had a detectable alcohol odor and an alcohol level of 1.46 per mille, as determined by a subsequent test. A blood sample was taken at the Euskirchen police station, though the exact location remains unspecified.
As a result of the test, the driver was prohibited from operating any motor vehicles that require a license. The impact caused the parked car to hit another car parked ahead, rendering the parked car undrivable.
Regarding any injuries or casualties, no information has been released at this time. The total damage to the vehicles involved is estimated to be in the high four-digit euro range.
