The park, which first opened its doors to the public on July 12, 1975, has become an economic powerhouse in the region over the decades. Founded by Franz Mack, who was born in 1921, Europa-Park has grown to become a beloved destination for millions of visitors each year.

One of the latest additions to Europa-Park is Rulantica, its water world. Rulantica recently came in fourth place among thousands of water parks worldwide, a testament to the park's commitment to excellence. The award was presented at the Carowinds theme park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In the 2023/24 season, almost 2.5 million overnight stays outside the Europa-Park hotels were booked. This significant figure underscores the park's continued appeal and its role as a tourist magnet for the region.

Jürgen Mack, the owner of Europa-Park, stated that receiving the award in the 50th anniversary year is historic and of invaluable significance for the family. The jury praised Europa-Park for its great variety of attractions, professional operation, and the interplay of tradition and innovation.

One of the park's most recent additions, the roller coaster "Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac," made it into the top 10 of nearly 6,000 steel roller coasters worldwide. With such accolades, it's clear that Europa-Park continues to set the standard for theme parks around the globe.

The neighboring Alsace also benefits from Europa-Park's success, according to a study by the University of St. Gallen. The park's economic impact reaches far beyond its gates, contributing significantly to the regional economy.
