European body's active role in the creation of various projects

Roberto Pätzold and his team at Bayer Leverkusen are gearing up for a challenging encounter against FC Bayern Munich in the opening game of the Bundesliga women's football season. The match, set to take place at the Allianz Arena on Saturday at 5:45 PM, is a significant moment in the upswing of women's football.

Pätzold, the trainer of the Bayer Leverkusen women's team, appreciates the communication and feedback culture in the women's team, finding it different from men's. He acknowledges that he cannot have the same presence in the locker room as with a men's team.

The team, which includes young players juggling school or professional training, has been reinforced with the addition of national player and top scorer, Carlotta Wamser, who previously played in boys' teams and now belongs to the Bayer Leverkusen squad as a winger. Wamser signed a contract until June 2027.

Bayer Leverkusen has also retained key players, such as Vanessa Fudalla, to strengthen their squad. Pätzold emphasizes that the squad size is deliberately smaller to give young players the opportunity to play.

Pätzold believes that playing against FC Bayern Munich in the opening game is a huge boost for his team. However, he acknowledges that the new season will not be a given after the successful pre-season. He states that confirming the performance and results of the record season will be an exciting challenge.

Cycle-based training is a topic in the team, with Pätzold acknowledging that it takes an even higher investment to make very small further developments. The players of Bayer Leverkusen work hard and professionally every day to meet these challenges.

The league opener of the Bundesliga women's football will be broadcast on ARD, in addition to MagentaSport and DAZN, providing fans with the opportunity to follow the action live. As the new season approaches, the excitement is building for this highly anticipated match.
