European Championship and Serie A Contention for Juventus Suggested by Igor Tudor
Juventus Prepare for Clash with Genoa in 2025-26 Serie A Opener
Juventus are set to face Genoa in their first match of the 2025-26 Serie A season, with the Old Lady holding a promising win probability of 49.5%, according to Opta.
The Bianconeri have a strong record against Genoa, having gone unbeaten in nine of their last ten encounters (W7 D2). This form has carried over into the new season, as Juventus secured a 2-0 victory against Parma in their opening fixture. However, they will need to be wary of Genoa's dangerous attacking threat.
Aaron Martin, Genoa's midfielder, has been in exceptional form this season. He leads the way in Serie A assists (seven) and has created the most chances from set-pieces (22).
Juventus' defensive record against Genoa is impressive, having not conceded a goal in their last three league matches against them. This could bode well for their potential to keep a clean sheet in both of their first two Serie A games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2004-05 and 2005-06.
However, Juventus' defence has been less solid in their recent away league games, managing only one shutout in their last 13. Their last clean sheet on the road came in a 1-0 win against Cagliari on 23rd February 2025.
Juventus' new manager, Igor Tudor, will be hoping to continue the team's positive form. He took over from Thiago Motta, who was sacked in March 2025. Under Tudor, Juventus have avoided defeat in nine of their ten Serie A matches (W6 D3).
Juventus will be looking to their star striker, Jonathan David, to continue his impressive form. The Canadian international scored on his Serie A debut against Parma and will be aiming to make it two goals in two games against Genoa. Should he score, he would join an exclusive club of players to have scored in both of their first two Serie A matches for Juventus since 1994-95.
In the Champions League, Juventus will face Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Benfica. With Tudor at the helm, the team will be aiming to make a strong impression in Europe's premier club competition.
The mood in the Juventus camp is said to be good, with Tudor expressing his confidence in the team. As the season unfolds, Juventus fans will be eager to see if their team can challenge for the Serie A title and make a deep run in the Champions League.
