In the city of Arnsberg, a valuable resource is available for relatives of individuals living with dementia. On Wednesday, September 3rd, at 6 pm, the Arnsberg Network Dementia will host an "Open Discussion Circle on Dementia" at the Multigenerational House, located at Hellefelder Straße 15, 59821 Arnsberg.

This event, organised by Judith Wohlgemuth, Specialist for the Future of Aging in the city, offers a protected environment for relatives to exchange ideas and share experiences. Caring for and supporting relatives of people with dementia presents numerous challenges, and the circle aims to provide a supportive space to discuss these challenges.

Relatives of people with dementia may face restrictions in their own professional activity, care of friendships, or hobbies. Moreover, they often find everyday life challenging and experience significant physical and emotional stress while caring for someone with dementia. The "Open Discussion Circle on Dementia" provides an opportunity for these individuals to discuss their needs and concerns in a supportive setting.

Participation in the circle is free and does not require registration. Judith Wohlgemuth can be contacted for questions about the event. Her contact information includes a telephone number, 02932 201 2213, and an email address, j.wohlgemuth@our website.

It is estimated that approximately 70% of care-dependent people with dementia live at home and are cared for by their relatives. This underscores the importance of offering support to these individuals and ensuring they have the resources they need to navigate this difficult journey.

The "Open Discussion Circle on Dementia" is just one example of the efforts being made in Arnsberg to support those affected by dementia. For more information or to learn about additional resources available, please contact Judith Wohlgemuth or visit the Arnsberg Network Dementia website.
