On Saturday, 25th January, at 7 PM, a traffic accident involving personal injury occurred on county road 71 near Blankenheim-Reetz.

According to the Circles Police Department Euskirchen, the driver was traveling from Blankenheim towards Blankenheim-Reetz on county road 71. In a sharp left curve, the driver veered off the road and collided with a pile of wood.

Upon arrival, the police officers found the driver still seated in his vehicle. The driver, a 21-year-old from France, reported falling asleep during the drive. The name of the driver has not been publicly disclosed.

The driver was injured in the collision and was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away.

A report was filed for endangering traffic with driving impairment. The police department has requested anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has relevant information to come forward.
