Hessian Businesses Embrace Authentic Regional Cuisine

The Lahn Valley Tourism Association has expressed its delight at the commitment of several awarded businesses in the region to Hessian cuisine. These businesses, having passed a rigorous quality check, are now proud recipients of certificates signed by Kaweh Mansouri, Hessian Minister for Economy, Energy, Transport, Housing, and Rural Development.

The quality check evaluates various factors, including the origin of products, culinary offerings, and overall gastronomic quality. Businesses that meet these standards are eligible to receive the coveted Hessian state lion award, with the number of lions depending on their score.

One such business is the wine house Schultes, which offers a unique blend of Hessian and Mediterranean cuisine. The establishment prides itself on sourcing its ingredients primarily from regional producers and suppliers, ensuring a truly authentic Hessian dining experience.

Specialties at Schultes include seasonal dishes such as asparagus, mushrooms, and game, reflecting the bounty of the region.

Meanwhile, the restaurant Justice in the Hessian city of Giessen remains something of a mystery, with no search results providing information about its owner.

The quality check is conducted every three years, ensuring that businesses maintain their high standards over time. Philipp Borchardt, Managing Director of the Lahn Valley Tourism Association, emphasises the importance of authentic, regional dishes for visitors, stating that they "provide a taste of the region and help to create lasting memories".

In addition to Kaweh Mansouri, the certificates are also signed by the Managing Directors of Hesse à la carte, Gisbert J. Kern and Yvonne Heider. These organisations work together to promote and support Hessian gastronomy, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the best that the region has to offer.

By supporting businesses that prioritise Hessian cuisine, the Lahn Valley Tourism Association aims to promote the region's rich culinary heritage and encourage visitors to sample its unique flavours.
