"Evening of Enrichment through Volunteer Work in Bad Kissingen"

In the picturesque town of Bad Kissingen, an annual tradition to honour volunteers took place at the Theater Schloss Maßbach. This year, the event was organized by the Landkreis Bad Kissingen, with Landrat Thomas Bold delivering a welcome speech to the 300 attendees.

The event aimed to express gratitude for the selfless acts of volunteers in various areas, such as sports, culture, and emergency services. The volunteers, who are a vital part of the community, particularly in rural areas, were recognised with the Bavarian Volunteer Card.

The Volunteer Cards offer discounts in numerous facilities and shops locally and throughout Bavaria. The Free State of Bavaria, counties, and independent cities recognise volunteers with the Volunteer Card, which comes in two versions - Blue and Gold. Currently, 1,376 citizens in Landkreis Bad Kissingen hold the blue Volunteer Card, and 1,220 hold the gold card.

One of the attendees, Sissi Schmitt from Oerlenbach, has been volunteering for decades. She plays various roles, including through the parents' council at a kindergarten, training the men's ballet, and being the 'girl for everything' at a sports club. Sissi expressed her delight at the event, stating, "That was a really nice, entertaining evening, we laughed a lot."

The evening was filled with laughter as the play "Falscher Tag, falsche Tür" unfolded on stage. The comedy involved a woman juggling three lovers who appeared on the same day.

Two such events were organized this year to honour the volunteers and their contributions. For those interested in learning more about the card and how to apply, they are invited to visit the Landkreis's website at www.kg.de.

Volunteers' selfless acts are reciprocated with positive experiences, and this event was no exception. The volunteers left the theatre with smiles on their faces, appreciative of the recognition and the enjoyable evening. The annual tradition continues to be a highlight in the community calendar, celebrating the unsung heroes who enrich the lives of many.
