In the heart of Wiesbaden, a significant development is underway that aims to address the housing needs of nursing, medical-technical, and functional service professionals. Helios Kliniken GmbH, the organisation behind the project, is constructing ten buildings, totalling around 12,500 square meters, by autumn 2027.

This new construction is a milestone, according to Milena Löbcke, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Helios HSK and Health Department Head. She considers it a crucial step in securing skilled workers, increasing the attractiveness of HSK as an employer, and strengthening Wiesbaden as a healthcare city.

The buildings will be constructed using hybrid wooden construction, a blend of sustainability and modern architecture. Exterior and interior walls will be made of cross-laminated timber. Prefabricated bathroom modules, staircases in solid construction, and reinforced concrete hollow-core slabs will also be used. Heating will be provided through district heating, and each apartment will feature underfloor heating, mechanical ventilation, and a balcony.

The apartments, designed as HSK staff apartments, will be reserved for employees of the nearby HSK. A variety of sizes will be available, from one-room apartments with 38 square meters to six-room apartments with 131 square meters. Green outdoor spaces, a neighbourhood square, and a children's playground will be created, while the roofs will be greened and equipped with photovoltaic systems.

Milena Löbcke emphasises the importance of this project, stating that many new trainees and employees at HSK struggle to find affordable housing in Wiesbaden. The project, she believes, is an essential contribution to strengthening Wiesbaden as a healthcare city, according to Angela Tausendpfund, CEO of EGW.

The construction is being carried out by the general contractor B&O, with GWW investing approximately 50 million euros in the HSK staff apartments. GWW has granted a sub-lease to Helios Kliniken GmbH, paving the way for the project to be realised on the HSK site.

Citizens with questions about the project are encouraged to contact the responsible department or office for more information. The publisher of this press release is the Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden.
