Expanding Knowledge Across India: Unveiling Pro Kabaddi League's Extensive Referee Training Initiative
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 is currently underway, and the competition is heating up with the introduction of a new tiebreaker format. This new format has made every match a 'do or die' situation, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
In the tiebreaker, each team gets five raids, and there are no player eliminations during tiebreakers. The baulk line becomes the bonus line, making the raids even more crucial. This change has significantly increased the importance of accurate decision-making by officials, making their role 'very, very, very crucial' as Kabaddi Rao, a PKL official, stated.
To ensure fair and consistent decision-making during matches, the PKL organised a 12-day training camp for kabaddi officials in Hyderabad from August 15 to August 27. The camp welcomed 23 newcomers, bringing the total number of officials to 45. E Prasad Rao, Technical Director of the PKL, explained that the increased number of officials is due to changes in some rules and formats this season.
The first match of the day will be between Puneri Paltan and Bengal Warriorz. Puneri Paltan has won their last two matches, while Bengal Warriorz had a strong performance against the defending champions Haryana Steelers in their last game. Interestingly, Haryana Steelers lost their last game against Bengal Warriorz.
In another exciting match, U Mumba, led by Sunil Kumar, will face Haryana Steelers. U Mumba has won both of their matches so far, making them a team to watch out for. Devank Dalal leads Bengal Warriorz, who will be looking to build on their recent victory.
The PKL Season 12 continues, and with multiple matches per venue and the stakes higher than ever, it promises to be an exciting season for kabaddi fans.
