BLG Logistics Expands with New Ahlhorn Terminal, Emphasising Commitment to Automotive Industry

BLG Logistics has made a significant move in the automotive industry with the opening of its new terminal in Ahlhorn. The 35-hectare site, leased on a long-term basis, is strategically positioned for future development.

The Ahlhorn terminal, located at Metropolpark Hansalinie on a former air base site, is already operational and serving its first automotive customer, according to BLG Logistics. The facility will eventually have the capacity to store around 16,000 finished vehicles, with an initial storage capacity for 2,500 vehicles.

In a statement, Axel Krichel, member of the Executive Board and chief operating officer of the BLG Group, emphasised the new Ahlhorn terminal as a commitment to the future of the Automobile segment. He further underscored its importance to the future of the automotive industry, stressing its strategic significance.

The Ahlhorn terminal is part of BLG Logistics' broader commitment to the automotive industry. The company is also investing in sustainability, with construction underway to install large-scale photovoltaic panels at both the Ahlhorn and Kelheim auto terminals.

At the Kelheim auto terminal, construction has begun on a large-scale roof covering with photovoltaic panels. Similarly, the facility in Ahlhorn will offer the full range of technical services, ensuring efficient and environmentally friendly operations.

The BLG Group sees the Ahlhorn terminal as a key part of its ongoing commitment to the automotive industry. With Volkswagen as the current user of the BLG Logistics Terminal in Ahlhorn, the new facility is set to play a crucial role in the sector's growth and development.

In conclusion, the Ahlhorn terminal is not just additional space, but a strategic investment in the future of the automobile industry. With its focus on sustainability and strategic location, it is poised to make a significant impact in the years to come.
