Experienced individual fully embraces and advocates for Laughter Yoga, renouncing former existence to spread its benefits to others; known as the "Joy Queen" by admirers.
Cat Googe, also known as The Joy Queen, made a significant career change in July 2021. The former teacher left her job to focus on making laughter yoga her full-time passion.
Laughter yoga, a unique blend of intentional laughter, simple yoga movements, and breathing exercises, aims to cultivate joy, bring out one's inner child, and help individuals let go of daily life stressors. Cat Googe discovered this form of yoga in October 2018 during a school wellness day and felt a profound release after attending a laughter yoga workshop.
Inspired, Cat Googe enrolled in a laughter yoga training course to learn both the practical side and the history of the practice. She now offers transformational group coaching, retreats, and one-to-ones, helping people reconnect with their energy and reclaim joy.
Cat Googe's laughter yoga sessions have received heartwarming testimonials from participants who felt they had forgotten how to laugh or needed the laughter yoga sessions after difficult times. A highlight of her career was running a laughter yoga session at Glastonbury in 2021, and she was accepted to run her own workshops at this year's Glastonbury.
In addition to festivals, Cat Googe runs workshops at schools, businesses, and other events. She emphasizes that individuals can be their own queen or king of joy, regardless of life's challenges. Cat Googe's website, CatGooge.com, provides more information about her workshops and offerings.
As of September 2025, there are no available or credible public records indicating the current location of Cat Googe, the Laughter Yogi. However, her commitment to spreading the joy of laughter yoga remains undeterred. Cat Googe aims to bring laughter yoga to at least 10 festivals in 2024.
The practice of laughter yoga was started by Doctor Madan Kataria in India in 1995. He claims that it can lift your mood, reduce stress, strengthen energy levels, improve the quality of your life, and help manage hardship. Today, laughter yoga has over 5,000 clubs worldwide. Cat Googe has recently received a scholarship with a success coach called Suzie Ashworth to grow and develop her business.
In 2023, Cat Googe organized a laughter yoga session for Fearne Cotton's festival, Happy Place. At 53 years old, Cat Googe continues to inspire and bring joy to people through laughter yoga.
