Famous individual, Lord Charles Brocket, accused of sexual assault through rape

In a significant development, Lord Brocket, 73, appeared in court on Saturday, following charges of rape and sexual assault. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that he was arrested on Friday and charged with two counts of rape in London on 10 August, one count of sexual assault by penetration in the village of Warbleton, East Sussex, on 5 May, and another count of sexual assault by penetration on a date yet to be specified.

The charges relate to the same woman, who, due to being an alleged victim of sexual offences, cannot be identified. The rape charge against Lord Brocket pertains to an incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 10 August, in Fulham. The sexual assault by penetration charge allegedly occurred on Monday, 5 May, in Warbleton, East Sussex.

During the court hearing, Lord Brocket confirmed his name, date of birth, and address. He denied the allegations and was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges. District judge Louisa Cieciora granted him bail, with conditions that include a GPS tag-monitored exclusion from coming within the M25.

The Metropolitan Police stated that they are supporting the victim with specialist officers, and the police received the report about the Fulham incident on the same day, 10 August. The charges against Lord Brocket were not mentioned to be tried at a magistrates' court, as they can only be tried at the crown court.

Lord Brocket is represented by Henry Milner in court, and his next court hearing is scheduled for 26 September at Isleworth Crown Court. His legal counsel confirmed that the next court date is scheduled for October 2025. The Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that Lord Brocket was arrested on Friday, 29 August, but no new information was provided about bail conditions or Lord Brocket's pleas. The police continue to investigate the matter.
