The excitement for the upcoming horse racing season is building, and FanDuel has announced its continued support for the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) ahead of the 151st Kentucky Derby.

The Kentucky Derby, scheduled for May 3, 2025, marks the first leg of the Triple Crown and attracts a broad interest from fans and bettors worldwide. This year, FanDuel has pledged a $100,000 donation to the TAA, an organisation that assists in the care, retraining, and rehoming for retired racehorses.

Larry Henry, a veteran print and broadcast reporter and editor, will headline FanDuel's Kentucky Derby Party in early May. Although there is no publicly available data about Henry's gaming industry experience or involvement in gambling-related businesses in states such as Tennessee and Louisiana, his extensive career in journalism, including roles as a political editor at the Las Vegas Sun and managing editor at KFSM-TV, the CBS affiliate in Northwest Arkansas, speaks volumes.

The TAA's president, Walter Robertson, expressed his gratitude for FanDuel's ongoing support. "We are thrilled to have FanDuel as a long-standing partner in our mission to provide a safe and secure future for retired racehorses," he said.

Meanwhile, the qualifying races for the three-year-old thoroughbreds are underway. Horses such as Journalism, Sandman, and Burnham Square have already secured their spots in the prestigious event.

In addition to the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes is scheduled for May 17, 2025, while the Belmont Stakes will take place on June 7, 2025, at Saratoga due to upgrades at Belmont Park.

To add to the excitement, Grammy-nominated performer Shaboozey will headline the Kentucky Derby Party on Friday, May 2, at Paristown Arts and Entertainment District in Louisville. Shaboozey, known for combining country, hip-hop, and more on stage and in recordings, is sure to bring an electrifying atmosphere to the event.
