Farm's rustic structure moves toward the cradle's environs
In the heart of Garbsen, the Murmelstein Family Center is currently playing host to a unique and educational initiative - a mobile chicken coop. This three-week venture, overseen by Garbsen's Environmental Officer Randi Diestel, is aimed at providing special experiences for children and teaching them about responsible animal care.
According to Mayor Claudio Provenzano, this project offers a wonderful opportunity for kindergartens in the area to directly interact with chickens and learn where eggs come from. Ten Garbsen kindergartens are set to benefit from this initiative this year, with each kindergarten receiving five tame Bantam Silk chickens, a chicken coop, fence, feed, and other accessories.
Each kindergarten's participation lasts for two or three weeks, depending on preference. The highlight of the programme is undoubtedly the experience of picking freshly laid eggs from the nest in the morning, a memorable event for the children.
Mayor Provenzano recently visited the facility to witness the success of the project firsthand. He expressed his delight at the initiative, emphasising its educational value and the joy it brings to the children.
The project is a collaborative effort between the municipality and the company Leihhuhn.de. With the mobile chicken coop making its way through Garbsen's kindergartens, the town is abuzz with excitement and learning. The exact municipality where this year's kindergartens are located was not explicitly mentioned in the available search results.
Despite this, the success of the project is evident, as children across Garbsen embark on a journey of discovery, learning about responsibility, nurturing, and the origins of their breakfast eggs.
