Fast-food chain Raising Cane's setting up shop in the heart of London

American chicken finger chain Raising Cane's is making a significant move into the U.K. and Europe, marking its first foray into the continent.

Founded by Todd Graves, the company closed 2024 with over 900 units and an impressive annual sales figure exceeding $5 billion. In a bid to continue its growth, Raising Cane's is restructuring its internal support and expanding its Dallas-Area Restaurant Support Office in Plano, Texas. The new office will quadruple the space available, allowing it to support thousands of crewmembers.

The expansion into the U.K. is a significant step for Raising Cane's. All units will be company-owned and operated, with the first location set to open in London's Picadilly Circus area. This flagship location will be the first of many planned for the United Kingdom, with units also opening on The Strand, Oxford Circus, Paddington, South Bank in London, and drive-thru locations across the greater London area.

The growth in the U.K. will be supported by a new London Support Office. Raising Cane's is also planning to hire a president of Raising Cane's U.K. to lead the charge, although information on this appointment is not yet available.

The expansion into Europe is not the only growth Raising Cane's is experiencing. The company plans to open 100 new units in 2025, with the aim of passing the 1,000-unit count. To accommodate this growth, Raising Cane's is creating seven operating divisions and hiring senior executive-level leaders.

In 2024, the average unit volume of Raising Cane's was $6.6 million. With the ambitious expansion plans, it remains to be seen how this will impact the company's financial performance. However, with the success Raising Cane's has already achieved, it seems the company is well-positioned for continued growth.

Raising Cane's is not new to international expansion. There are already multiple Raising Cane's locations across the Middle East. As the company continues to grow, it's clear that Raising Cane's is committed to bringing its signature chicken fingers and Texas hospitality to more parts of the world.
