Federal authorities carried out two arrests based on court orders issued by BPOLI MD.

A 23-year-old Afghan national was detained by the Federal Police in Magdeburg, Germany, on August 20, 2025. The arrest came after two outstanding arrest warrants were discovered during a routine check at Magdeburg Central Station.

The warrants, issued by the public prosecutors' offices in Stendal and Magdeburg in July 2025, were due to the 23-year-old's failure to surrender to serve a sentence and his unknown whereabouts. The specific charges for which he was wanted were not immediately clear.

However, it is known that the 23-year-old had previously been sentenced by the District Court of Burg in November 2024 to a fine of 450 euros or 30 days of imprisonment for threats. In May 2025, the District Court of Magdeburg sentenced him to a fine of 75 euros or five days of imprisonment for fraudulent receipt of benefits.

Upon discovery of the warrants, the Federal Police officers served these documents on the 23-year-old, took him into custody, and brought him to the Federal Police Inspectorate at Magdeburg Central Station. The officers then informed the relevant authorities about the execution of both arrest warrants.

Since the 23-year-old could not pay the total outstanding amount of 510 euros (450 euros from the threats sentence and 75 euros from the fraudulent receipt of benefits sentence), he was subsequently taken to a detention facility to serve the remaining 17 days of his imprisonment.
