Federal law enforcement has carried out an arrest warrant, imprisoning a 33-year-old individual for 75 days due to inability to come up with €2250 bail money.

The Federal Police in Halle (Saale) made a significant arrest on July 20, 2025, at 3:40 PM. A 33-year-old Afghan national was detained at the central station, wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Erfurt since February under a warrant for his arrest.

The suspect had been sentenced by the Regional Court of Erfurt in September 2024 to a fine of 2250 euros or 150 days in prison for forgery. However, the Afghan national had neither paid the outstanding amount nor surrendered to serve his sentence, and his whereabouts were unknown until his arrest.

Upon apprehending the suspect, the Federal Police officers informed the issuing authority about the execution of the arrest warrant. After completing necessary procedures, the suspect was taken to a detention facility to serve the next 75 days.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Erfurt issued a warrant for his arrest for a total of 75 days of imprisonment. The Afghan national's case is now under investigation, and further questions can be directed to the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg, which can be contacted via telephone at +49 (0) 391-56549-505 or email at [email protected].
