In a series of incidents on August 15 and 17, 2025, several individuals were stopped at German border crossings due to outstanding arrest warrants and fines.

On August 15, the first incident occurred at 8:45 AM when a Bulgarian presented himself for entry control to officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz at the border crossing in Reitzenhain. An open arrest warrant for fraud from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Regensburg was outstanding against the 31-year-old man. Despite the warrant, the Bulgarian was able to continue his journey, as a fine of 600,000 EUR, outstanding for the man, was paid by his brother-in-law in Erfurt.

Later that day, at 10:00 AM, a 24-year-old Romanian was checked at the border crossing in Reitzenhain. An arrest warrant for an offense against the Weapons Act was outstanding against the man, according to the warrant from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Weiden. However, the required fine of over 3700,000 EUR for the Romanian was paid by a friend in Augsburg, allowing him to enter the federal territory.

In another incident on August 15, at 3:50 PM, a Polish citizen was checked at the border crossing. An arrest warrant for burglary from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld was found, and the 27-year-old man was taken to the detention facility in Dresden. The Polish citizen had a prison sentence of one year and four months to serve in Dresden.

On August 17, at 8:45 AM, a Romanian presented himself for entry control to officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz. An open arrest warrant for an offense against the Weapons Act was outstanding against the 36-year-old man from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Hof. The required fine of over 1400,000 EUR for the Romanian was paid by a friend in Kiel, allowing him to continue his journey.

However, it is worth noting that the law enforcement authority in Hof that issued the arrest warrant against the 36-year-old Romanian is not explicitly mentioned in the search results.

These incidents highlight the complexities involved in cross-border law enforcement and the challenges faced by authorities in ensuring the apprehension of individuals with outstanding warrants or fines.
