Female victim of male violence, aged 54, deceased in Motril, confirmed by authorities

In the city of Motril, Granada, a tragic event unfolded on August 24, as a woman lost her life in an alleged case of gender violence.

The victim, a resident of the El Varadero urbanization, was initially treated at her home for alcohol poisoning and a head injury. However, her condition worsened, and she was later transferred to the Neurotraumatology Unit of the Granada Hospital Virgen de las Nieves, where she succumbed to her injuries in the afternoon.

The man suspected of being the perpetrator of this heinous crime is the woman's ex-partner from Cártama, who is currently in custody. Despite his name not being explicitly mentioned in the sources, he is described as the woman's partner and the main suspect in this murder case.

The events took place around 10:30 am, and the emergency service 112 received a call reporting that a woman needed medical assistance. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the woman had not suffered one blow, but many, with one causing a cerebral trauma that ultimately ended her life.

The Ministry of Equality and the Government Delegate against Gender Violence have expressed "absolute condemnation and rejection" of this machista assassination. They have also called for "all efforts from institutions, administrations, and society as a whole to arrive in time and prevent more deaths".
