Festive Springtime Events Across Europe

On Sunday, May 18th, the historic city of Landshut, Germany, will come alive with the vibrant energy of the European Festival. From 11 am to 6 pm, the city centre will transform into a melting pot of culture, music, and entertainment, welcoming delegations, mayors, and friends from partner cities across Europe.

Mayor Putz has emphasised the importance of EU unity, stating that it is more important than ever. He expresses great pleasure at the opportunity to welcome these guests, making Landshut a hub of European camaraderie.

The festival will feature a rich culinary and cultural program. International food and drinks will be offered at stands in front of the town hall in the old town, providing a taste of Europe in every bite. The Europa-Union Landshut, in cooperation with the Young European Federalists Bavaria, will have an information booth during the festival, offering insights into the political and social aspects of Europe.

Music and dance performances from various countries will take place on stages in front of the city residence and the city gate, as well as at other locations in the city. The Italian choir "Monte Pasubio" from Schio, Scottish bagpipe player Ian Sinclair and a Highland dance group from Elgin, a brass band from Ried im Innkreis, the French chanson and swing band "Francophonix" from Compiegne, and the Romanian folk dance group "Cindrelul - Junii Sibiului" from Sibiu, among others, will grace the stages with their talent.

In addition to the cultural extravaganza, the business community will showcase the diversity of the historic center, combining high-quality leisure, shopping, and gastronomy. A large spring fair will take place in the old town and at Trinity Square, offering diverse advice and shopping opportunities. A car and motorcycle show will present trends and innovations in the new town.

For the little ones, a children's play area will be set up in the new town with bouncy castles, balloon modeling, creative activities, and other surprises. The city gate will focus on bicycles, featuring stunt shows, new bike and e-bike models, and information about local cycling tours.

A Sunday shopping event will also be held in the city centre from 1 pm to 6 pm during the festival. With more than 80 shops open for Sunday shopping, visitors can explore the city's unique offerings at their leisure.

For more detailed information about the program, visitors can visit our website, or pick up a program flyer at the tourist information office in the town hall. The European Festival in Landshut promises to be a day of unity, celebration, and discovery, and we invite everyone to join us in this exciting event.
