Finalists showcase their exceptional skill for the prestigious German KIT Award
In the picturesque town of Pielenhofen, the BinE alliance has made a significant stride in the realm of early education and sustainable development. This year, the vocational academy in Pielenhofen has graduated 39 excellently trained young professionals, a testament to the alliance's unwavering commitment to nurturing skilled workers.
The BinE alliance, which includes Waldkindergarten and the vocational academy for social pedagogy, is among the last eight finalists in the category "Local Alliance for Early Education of the Year" for 2025. This is the alliance's second attempt at the German Award, a joint initiative of several organizations, including the Federal Ministry of Education and the German Children and Youth Foundation.
The German Award, now in its eighth year, aims to set impulses for quality in early childhood education and honours local commitments that demonstrate quality. The alliance's work is attributed to the daily efforts of skilled workers and the responsible cooperation of sponsors, municipal actors, and other institutions.
The needs and ideas of the children and students at the vocational academy are considered decisive in the alliance's initiatives. During practical training in nature-oriented facilities, students learn to address future-oriented topics alongside children, fostering an environment that promotes education for sustainable development (EfS).
Bavarian State Minister Tanja Schweiger acknowledged the importance of the commitment, stating that the quality of the alliance's work is due to the daily efforts of skilled workers and responsible cooperation of sponsors, municipal actors, and other institutions.
In 2023, the local alliance was honoured by the then Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Lisa Paus, for being the first to combine a kindergarten and a vocational school for educators. The alliance, focused on providing good and healthy upbringing for children aged 0 to 10 in daycare facilities, is now a finalist for the German Award for the second year in a row, selected from almost 600 applicants nationwide.
The alliance from Pielenhofen was a finalist for the German Award in 2023 and is now a finalist again, aiming to reach the top three in the award ceremony in Berlin in November. No specific information could be found about finalists from Pielenhofen for the 2025 German Prize in the category "Annual Alliance for Early Education of the Year." However, the alliance's continued success is a shining example of how high-quality early education, care, and upbringing can succeed.
