Financial partnership established between Ecobank Uganda and Ria Money Transfer, aiming to improve and expand remittance services.

In a significant move for Uganda's financial services sector, Ecobank Uganda has partnered with Ria Money Transfer, a global leader in cross-border remittance services. This collaboration comes at a time when international remittances play a crucial role in Uganda's economy, with many Ugandan families relying on money sent from relatives working abroad.

The partnership aims to make these transfers more accessible and efficient. For Ecobank account holders, funds can now be received directly into their accounts. For those without Ecobank accounts, cash transfers can be collected at any Ecobank branch or through the bank's extensive sub-agent network across Uganda.

El Hadj Malick Seck, Ria Money Transfer's Managing Director for Africa, considers East Africa, particularly Uganda, integral to Ria's operational strategy. He noted that this collaboration adds significant value to Ria's already extensive network. Seck is confident that the collaboration with Ecobank will provide greater convenience to Ugandans sending money to their families.

The synergy of a major African bank and an international remittance leader promises to bring about positive changes in how Ugandans send and receive money across borders. Ria Money Transfer's network includes over 580,000 physical locations across nearly 200 countries.

The partnership contributes to the broader goal of financial inclusion in Uganda by making international money transfers more accessible. It aligns with broader trends in Africa's financial sector, where innovative partnerships are reshaping the landscape of cross-border transactions.

This collaboration strengthens Ecobank's position as a trusted partner for the Ugandan diaspora. The partnership is particularly significant for Ugandans in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East as it simplifies the process for them to send money to their families back home.

The debt restructuring activities of Ecobank Uganda and Ria Money Transfer particularly focus on Uganda and neighboring East African countries. The collaboration is expected to open up new possibilities for Ugandans to participate in the global economy.

The partnership aligns with Ecobank's mission to provide unparalleled convenience in global funds transfer services. Seck considers this collaboration a significant step forward in Uganda's financial services sector, as it is poised to revolutionize the remittance landscape in Uganda, offering enhanced options for both domestic and international money transfers.
