Fire breaks out at a senior living facility in Telgte
In the early hours of Tuesday, July 8, 2025, the Warendorf Police were called to a nursing home on Eichenweg in Telgte. Upon arrival, they found one of the apartments fully ablaze, with smoke visible from another.
The affected apartment has since been sealed off, and the other apartments on the upper floor are currently uninhabitable. A 61-year-old resident was seriously injured and taken to a hospital by rescue services, along with two other individuals.
The federal highway was fully closed as a result of the incident, and two rescue helicopters were requested to assist with the evacuation and treatment of the injured. Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to other apartments.
The Warendorf Police are currently investigating the incident, with no further details about the cause of the fire having been provided.
