Fire Department Community Event: Family Fun Day at the Fire Station in Neheim
The Arnsberg Fire Department held a family-friendly event at the Neheim fire station on the Old Moat last Sunday, attracting a large crowd of locals. The day was filled with exciting demonstrations, activities for children, and a varied program that catered to the whole family.
The event kicked off with an opening address by Jan Pater, the station leader, and Tobias Jakob, his deputy, who warmly welcomed the guests. The little ones had a blast with activities like a bouncy castle, sandbox, ride-on vehicles, and face painting, while the adults enjoyed catering options that included a cafeteria offering various cake variations and a grill stand serving hearty dishes.
The deployment forces of the Neheim fire station showcased their skills throughout the day with exciting exercises, and the Technical Relief Agency (THW) added to the information offer by participating with its own vehicle. The youth fire brigade impressed with its commitment and impressive training, as demonstrated in two of its own exercises.
Rides in a real fire engine were a popular highlight for many children, and the TV Neheim dance group captivated the audience with a lively performance. The tombola, filled with attractive prizes, was a hit, with a special thank you going to all sponsors for making it possible. One lucky participant even won a Mercedes SUV as a special prize.
The fire department leadership expressed their gratitude for the interest and friendly conversations and expressed anticipation for a reunion in two years.
