Fire department successfully puts out blaze in a medieval-style home, one individual sustains injuries

Fire Breaks Out in Semi-Detached House in Brölweg, Gerresheim

A fire incident occurred at a semi-detached house in Brölweg, Gerresheim, on Sunday, 12th January 2025, at 5:02 PM. The Düsseldorf Fire Department promptly responded to the emergency call and dispatched two teams equipped with breathing apparatus and a C-pipe for fire-fighting, both inside and outside the building.

Upon arrival, the first responders found the outbuilding fully engulfed in flames. High-performance fans were swiftly deployed to ventilate both semi-detached houses. After a two-hour operation, the incident was brought under control, although some hotspots required extinguishing.

Smoke was also detected in the neighboring building, but no further details about the situation there have been reported. Fortunately, no new injuries were reported during the operation, aside from one person who suffered burns and was transported to a hospital. The other person in the semi-detached house was uninjured.
